Ante-natal exercises

The benefits of exercise in pregnancy are well documented. Exercise can reduce back pain, maintain fitness and help return your body to its pre-pregnancy state more quickly.

The type of exercise depends on the stage of your pregnancy and of course on your general health.
Pilates type exercises are particularly useful to work your core stability muscles which help support your spine and pelvis throughout all the changes. Using an exercise ball means you can continue exercising even if you have a big 'bump'.

Please remember that you should consult your GP prior to starting any exercise programme and that exercises using a gym ball should be under the supervision of a physiotherapist or qualified instructor.

Sandra is qualified to teach exercises on a one to one basis. Why not contact her for more information.
